'Santa's on a Bike' is BACK

After a sad couple of years where Santacon and various other Santa themed gatherings have been cancelled, there remains one light in this increasingly rubbish darkness.

The charity motorbike ride event ‘Santa's on a Bike’ are BACK, BABY.

While Plymouth and Bristol had their long white beards caressed by winter winds last weekend, it isn’t over. This Saturday 11th December across Devon and the Midlands, a collection of brave and generous souls are braving the beautiful British Weather to raise money and awareness of their chosen local charity.

For the Devonites, the charity close to their heart is the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), who provide hospice care for terminally ill children and children with life-limiting conditions. CHSW celebrated 30 years this year and has three locations across the South West. The main ride starts from The Little Red Café in Taunton and ends at Little Bridge House Hospice in Barnstaple. You can donate to their JustGiving page here.

For the Midlanders, Acorns Children’s Hospice is their number one, also serving the whole Midlands area across three locations. The ride starts from Gupshill Manor in Tewkesbury and ends at Acorns Childrens Hospice in Worcester. You can support them and donate to their JustGiving page, with the proceeds going to the Acorns Children’s Hospice.

Whether you’re a seasoned bike rider or have freshly minted ‘L’ plates, everyone is welcome to Santa's on a Bike. Bikes, trikes and quads are welcome so no matter the number of tyres on your ride, you can help raise awareness of these incredible causes. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t attended a group ride before; these are very newbie-friendly events with all junctions marshalled so there’s no need to worry about getting lost or ‘keeping up’.

While the name of the event is ‘Santa's on a Bike’, all winter-themed costumes are welcome. So stroll up if you’re a snowman, roll on down and don a pair of reindeer antlers and as an elf use your elf magic to help everyone escape the stresses of daily life and have an enchanting ride. You can even decorate your motorbike in festive garb so your steed is speedy and sparkly!

We’re all in this together for a good cause so everyone have an enjoyable and safe day and keep it up!

If you’re a winter riding enthusiast, make sure you check your tyres before and after every ride. For a safer, more comfortable ride, consider some winter motorcycle tyres. Happy riding!
